The Management

The management team of the RWE Foundation consists of Gabriele Tennagels and Erich Thiedemann.

Gabriele Tennagels

Gabi Tennagels is the Head of Finance & Credit Risk at RWE AG in Essen. The banking specialist joined RWE from Commerzbank in 1999.

In her free time, Gabi Tennagels has been involved in voluntary work for many years, gaining experience in youth development, therapeutic horse riding and vaulting for people with disabilities, and music. “I have personally experienced how important equal opportunities are, especially for disadvantaged children and young people,” Gabi emphasises. As part of an international team, another focus of the foundation lies very close to her heart: the topic of international/intercultural exchange. “Through mutual understanding many conflicts can be avoided. I am confident that working with our partners, we are going to realise many great projects that will make a real difference,” Gabi continues.

Erich Thiedemann

Erich Thiedemann is the Head of Top Executive Management & Projects at RWE AG in Essen. After completing his second state examination in law, he began his career at RWE in the HR department at the beginning of 2004.

For more than 30 years, Erich Thiedemann has been involved in various volunteering activities. For many years, he was active in children's and youth work, organised apprenticeship fairs and job application training for school graduates, and was the long-standing chairman of a support association for student and apprentice education in Essen. Since 2015, Erich has been a member of the St. Josef Board of Trustees in Essen, an association that assists the sick and elderly. “Enabling education and participation for children and young people regardless of their family background is the key to social cohesion. This is exactly what I aspire to achieve as part of the RWE Foundation,” Erich states.
