Vouchers for experimenting, researching and discovering
The goal of the project “RWE Foundation Education Vouchers with Junior-Uni Ruhr” is to support particularly eager and interested children and adolescents from families with poor educational backgrounds via extracurricular courses, where they may experience new educational opportunities.
The courses range from planetary research to complex robotics teachings. The project begins with Junior-Uni Ruhr teachers teaching children in selected nurseries, primary and secondary schools in socially disadvantaged areas. In the second step, teachers will select children with a particular willingness and interest to learn, who will be awarded with educational vouchers. They may use these to attend different courses in Junior-Uni in Mülheim for free. This way, children and adolescents get to experience new forms of education, and previously hidden talents and abilities will be found and promoted.
