No one left behind
The Project “Good Start Into School” (in German “Guter Start in die Schule”) works towards improving children’s start into school with a focus on children from poorly educated and often immigrant- or refugee families. The goal is to convey to the children that learning can be fun early-on, and to not only find, but also develop their strengths. Many children who do not attend nursery are lacking the necessary language, motor, and social skills to enter primary school, placing them behind their peers before their educational path has even begun.
The project takes place in the form of group sessions – two groups with seven children each. These are taught together by a professional and volunteer four times a week for 60 minutes each, where every child receives their own personalised learning curriculum corresponding to their abilities.
