Finding ground in bereavement

Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity’s purpose is to relieve the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical distress of children and young people suffering, or anticipating, a bereavement in order to prevent long term consequences. The charity not only offers support to children and young adults starting at birth until the age of 25, but also to respective families. There is a special focus on children and young adults from disadvantaged financial backgrounds, so that further disadvantages stemming from bereavement may be limited. Preventative measures take place in form of therapeutic peer support, including face to face appointments and memory building.
